Interesting aircraft from trips around the UK in 2021!

Doncaster, Sandtoft, Hibaldstow and Humberside Sunday 11th April.

A blast down to shoot the Canadian Basler BT67 based at Humberside for a few weeks via Doncaster to catch a couple of interesting movements, also popping into Sandtoft for a couple of nice twins and Hibaldstow for the resident skydive Dornier 28s and Ce208 Caravan. A great day out which started very nice and sunny, but later turned out horrible light for photography with grey cloud and sleet snow showers.....

Doncaster Sunday 11th April. Getjet Airlines Airbus A330-300 LY-LEO was departing to Xiamen as (GJT739) after arriving from Tashkent the day before as (GJT738), whilst arriving from London Stansted with Arsenal FC was Jota Aviation BAe RJ100 G-JOTS as (ENZ207), after 30 minutes on the ground it positioned out to Liverpool as (ENZ207P).

Humberside Sunday 11th AprilALCI Aviation Douglas/Basler BT67 Dakota C-GEAJ arrived from Erfurt 3rd April to be based for a few weeks doing surveys over the coast near Whitby, unfourtunaly the weather wasn't playing ball when it left for another four hour sortie though...

Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loganair Barra Beach landing Saturday 5th/Sunday 6th June.

Always wanted to tick off the list the Loganair beach landing at Barra from Glasgow, so i headed up to Edinburgh on Fri 4th June after my first attempt got canx back in March 2020 due to Covid,  anyway my first stop was head straight to Edinburgh Airport and stay until dark shooting the cargo movements, then head over to Glasgow Airport where i had a Travelodge booked for the next two nights. On the Sat, have the Loganair DHC6 Twin otter flight and then check out a old Boeing 737 nose at a warehouse near Glasgow Airport, then on the Sunday have a couple of hours at Glasgow then head home via Prestwick and Carlisle....or that was the plan!

Edinburgh 4th June.  Not much in due to the ongoing Covid restrictions with the usual Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways, Loganair and KLM standing out of the Schedule movements...  but the cargo was what i was here for with the best of the bunch being the Star Air Boeing 767-200F OY-SRG heading off to East Midlands as (AWC6565) and ASL Boeing 737-400F F-GIXU departing to Rennes as (FPO4426), others being a DHL Boeing 757 and four West Atlantic Boeing 737s which didn't move while i was their, so with not much going in the box it was off to the Travelodge at Glasgow Airport as the light was fading.....

Glasgow 5th June and Barra 5th June.  Up early and out to a very quiet Glasgow Airport with not a lot of aircraft due in or out, but plenty of stored aircraft scattered around which inc British Airways Airbus A319/320s, Jet2 Boeing 737-800s and a TUI Airways Boeing 737-800.  One aircraft which was moving today however was my ride, which was a smart looking Viking/DHC6-400 Twin Otter G-SGTS of Loganair sporting the Scotish flag livery, never flown on a Twotter before so a new type in the flight log book for me, so looking forward to the hour long flight as (LOG451) followed by the first ever beach landing. I booked the later return flight as it would give me some four hours exploring the beaches etc while also hoping for a different aircraft on the later flight, unfortunately though the weather was awful so didn't do much after landing and the same aircraft returned for the flight back to Glasgow as (LOG456), so not the best of days, however a great day out for £80.  .

On the return back at Glasgow i headed to a warehouse on the outskirts of the Airport to find an old Boeing 737-528 nose, which is ex VP-BRV of Yamal and Air France from new as F-GJNB, then it was off to KFC for tea and a chill with noting due at Glasgow later on the evening.

Glasgow 6th June and Carlisle 6th June.  So after a weee cheeky lie in it was off for some breakfast and chill at the 23 end of Glasgow's main runway, here i waited for a couple of Loganair Twin Otters and a Saab SF340 to leave and a Pink Sparrow Ce560 Citation XLS OE-GJM, 'which arrived lastnight from Naples' to leave to Salzburg as (SOW5) then had a ride round the perimeter picking off a Royal Navy Merlin that had gone tech and been sat their for several days, a TUI Airways Boeing 737-800 G-TAWN still sporting the Sunwing colours after the being leased to them and an Easyjet Europcar logo jet Airbus A320 G-EZPD and the regular FedEx ATR72F EI-FXI and a enginless Loganair Saab SF340 G-LGNH.

The plan then was to head over to Prestwick but with nothing due in i gave it a miss and headed home via Carlisle, not much in Carlisle as expected other than a resident Ce177 N442BJ, then back home via Teesside to catch up with the Tarom Airbus A318 before its departure later on with the Romanian Football team, which then brought to an end a most enjoyable weekend trip while adding another type to my flying log book...
